stop waiting for nye

Don’t Wait for New Year’s! The slower we ease into building habits, the more likely they are to stick. That means a January “binge” workout routine isn’t going to get you long-term results.

I was talking about this in my onboarding last week. The new members and I had a great conversation about habits, and I wanted to share a bit of it here. I really believe New Year’s is the worst time to start a fitness routine or new habits. There’s too much noise, too many people at the gym, and way too much pressure.

New Year’s is the worst time to start a fitness routine or new habits. There’s too much noise, too many people at the gym and too much pressure.

All those external influences push us to go all-in, 110% effort for about two and a half weeks, and then we burn out. My suggestion? Start your sustainable habits now. If not today, then next week or sometime soon. Building that foundation in early November, around Thanksgiving, or even in December means that by the time the New Year hits, your habits are already in place. You’ll be able to ride the New Year energy instead of getting overwhelmed or derailed by it.

So my advice is simple: start today. Start messy and nervous if you have to — just get started. I hope to see you in the app, in the gym, or even just out for a walk.

P.S. the Pridefit Beginner Home Program dropped this week - the perfect place to start. Our Halloween sale is still going on right now for Pridefit. You can get your entire first month of PrideFit for only one dollar.
